Perfect Burger Sauce Recipe

Our homemade burger sauce recipe is super simple and makes the most delicious, tangy, creamy sauce perfect for burgers! I bet you already have everything you need in your kitchen.

Homemade Burger Sauce

I’m so excited to share this incredible burger sauce with you! Our family has fallen in love with it, and it’s so easy to make at home. Use this homemade sauce for your next juicy burger or as a smash burger sauce. It’s even amazing with turkey burgers and bean burgers (really!).

While at it, consider making a side of French fries (with fry sauce) or make a batch of our baked sweet potato fries!

Key Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise: I use regular mayo or homemade mayonnaise (it’s so good!). If you serve this with vegetarian/vegan bean burgers, use vegan mayo (or homemade vegan mayo) to make it vegan-friendly.
  • Dijon Mustard: I love Dijon for this sauce since it’s a bit more tangy than regular mustard. That tanginess cuts through the richness of the mayo.
  • Pickle Juice: I don’t add pickles to my sauce (you can if you’d prefer), but I do add pickle juice! Use the juice from store-bought or homemade dill pickles.
  • Tomato Paste: Ketchup is super popular for burger sauce, but we’ve found tomato paste adds more flavor, and we get to adjust the sweetness with honey.
  • Honey: I love honey in this sauce, but you can swap it for maple syrup.

Simply mix everything to make the burger sauce, and refrigerate it so it’s ready for your burgers!
